“Here and There” was woven on the Mirrix Lani at 8EPI and 12/9 cotton seine twine warp. The background weft is 2 strands Faro and 1 strand Mora. The balls of color are 1 strand Faro built up in a Soumak technique. The text was surface embellishment after woven with Mora.

The size is 7” wide by 5” high.

This was my postcard for the ATA postcard exchange in 2019, put together by Dorothy Clews. I did several pieces before I settled on this one and got the yarn balls to maintain the shape I wanted. I wrote a blog post on my process here. The title for the exchange was Here and (T)here.
