This was begun as an attempt to decide how best to weave moss on trees in August (?) 2018. It’s an ongoing goal of mine. The threads showing are just the tails of sewing thread where I didn’t sew in the ends from the slits yet. I read a great book, Gathering Moss by Robin Wall Kimmerer*, and it changed how I look at (and look for) moss everywhere now. Woven on my S-loom.
10.25” width, 9.25” height
8 EPI. The warp is Nina, a linen and cotton blend I’d been using on previous weavings. Border is Nina; greens and browns are all Mora or Faro doubled. Techniques used are slits, wrapping, and hachures.
