Scenes from a Maximo Laura Workshop
I have been wanting to attend a Maximo Laura workshop for over 5 years now. The timing could not have been more perfect for my husband to travel with me a week before the workshop began. We had lots of time to relax and enjoy our surroundings.
And the “surroundings” were stunning!
Once the workshop started, he flew home and I was able to focus totally on the weaving. The days were full; we had a daily schedule of about 6 hours of weaving time with breaks throughout the day to get us up and moving.
We were assigned pre-warped looms, yarns, and patterns.
Every day after the 5:30 bell rang, I headed for my room with a big pot of tea. I managed to record my daily progress, which I uploaded to Instagram each night. But that’s all I seemed to have energy for!
I’ve been getting lots of questions about this trip. And I have lots more to share, so I’ve decided to schedule a zoom meeting probably sometime in January (hopefully we’ll have our fiber optic cable hooked up by then!) For now, here are some friendly faces from the workshop.
And last but not least, our teachers!
So more coming… if you’re not getting my newsletter, you might want to sign up to stay informed when I set the date for the zoom. Just click the “join me” button in the right hand corner or sign up here.
Update: Zoom presentation was on January 27th.
