Tapestry Value Packs!

EPiC Value Pack: Earth Tones

Have you ever woven a tapestry and looked at it later - and all those beautiful colors had turned to something akin to - well, mud?

I’ve written quite a bit lately about choosing colors for tapestry, the importance of value, and how much I love EPiC yarns.

This has led me to put together color combinations with Epic that include a dark, a light, and three medium values. Although EPiC is the perfect weight I like to work with, what I’m most drawn to is the range of color choices available.

I wrote earlier about breaking the hues into where they fall on the grey scale, so I won’t go into that again here. Suffice it to say it’s been a real game-changer for me.

In teaching tapestry, I’m acutely aware that choosing colors can be frustrating for beginners (and often more advanced weavers).

These packs have led to more freedom in sitting down at the loom and working on samples for my classes (which is about the only weaving I’m getting done right now)…  Both samples shown were for my Soumak course and have come as a result of these color packs.

By offering these packs for purchase here on my website, I’m hoping it takes a little of the pain out of getting started. And moves you closer to the gain.

But - wait - they each need a name! I’ve put this post off for weeks because I haven’t settled on names…

I have a few ideas, but then I realized it might be fun to ask what YOU think. I used to ask my readers for help with naming knitwear collections in the past and it always worked beautifully. Two heads are always better than one. Why not give it a go here?

In some cases, I’ve come up with an idea; others nada. So even if a name is noted, I’d still love to hear your suggestions!

So tell me, what do these colors say to you?
