Tree Companions was done on my first Mirrix loom, the Zeus loom, that I gave myself for my birthday, April 2018. It was warped April 6th and finished August 6th, 2018. I have been interested in the communication between trees for a while now and would love to do a series, not just with trees but (the bigger picture) the interconnectedness of life forms.

8 EPI, warp is a mercerized cotton I had on hand (Cotton Lite from Tahki yarns). Weft is both Faro and Mora yarns. The border is a softer yarn (Tempo). Earth is 3 strands of Faro worked over 2 warps. The roots are both 2 strands (or 3?) Mora for the horizontal - ish roots and Nina for the vertical ones. The background (sky) is 2 strands of Mora, as are the trees above ground.
