Tree Companions 2 is the second piece in a series I’m working on showing the inter-connectedness of life. I’m excited about this one because I finally discovered vertical soumak for the roots.

9” wide, 6.5” high

16EPI warped with 20/6 cotton seine twine. All but the roots and inside borders are woven over 2/2 warps. The finer warp may not have been necessary. Weft is entirely of Faro, sometimes doubled (outer borders, trees, and sky) and sometimes tripled (earth mound). Roots are a mixture of single and doubled.
