Weaving with paper yarn...
I recently bought some paper yarn from Gist Yarns - not that I had any idea what I would do with it, but more because I was curious. It’s a beautiful blue. I have yet to wind it because I remember all those strange and unruly fibers I used to buy for my yarn shop in years past. I loved them, but no one else knew what to do with them. And a lot of them were hard to wind (the unruly part).
But still, they are a curiosity to me, and I want to experiment with them. So, I was excited to see a message in my inbox yesterday from Gist Yarns about a project on the Mirrix using their paper yarn. I was somewhat blown away by the thoroughness of the post. All the information to get started is right there.
I also love that Gist collaborated with Mirrix on this. I have three Mirrix looms and I love them all. It makes me nervous when they’re not all warped and ready so I’m determined to get something on each one before this weekend is over. And maybe I’ll wind that paper yarn, too!
